Six months of harvesting, spinning, and weaving—before a single stitch of the jacket is sewn.
The Patchwork Nettle Jacket begins in the Himalayan forests of Bhutan, where the wild nettle plant is harvested by hand, spun into fiber, and woven on traditional looms by one of the few remaining families who still carry this ancient craft. The result is a jacket so rare, and so completely one-of-a-kind that wearing it feels like carrying a piece of living history. Bold circular patchwork in natural nettle, “harvest moon” red, and forest green—its artistry is impossible to ignore. Wrap it around you for warmth, protection, and groundedness. And wherever you wear it, people will stop and ask.

Only a handful of families in Bhutan still know how to gather, process, and weave wild nettle. It is an ancient craft that is quietly disappearing as industrial textiles take over. This jacket is made by those remaining artisans—using fiber that takes over six months to go from wild plant to woven fabric.
The patchwork design is the work of Bali-based slow fashion pioneer, Myrah Penaloza, whose vision brought together naturally dyed linen and handwoven nettle into bold, circular panels. Each one is cut, placed, and sewn individually by her small team of tailors. Weeks of skilled handiwork go into every single jacket.
Nettle has been revered for centuries as one of nature's most protective plants—it stings on contact, holds its ground, and grows back stronger every time. For centuries it has been used as a symbol of resilience and personal power. This jacket is a wearable reminder of that—to protect your energy, stand in your strength, and lead with intention.
It will outlast everything else in your wardrobe, growing softer and more beautiful with every year. An heirloom piece of vanishing craft, rare material, and extraordinary design.
