Retreat Highlights

Constant Cultural Exchange
Meet and learn from Bhutan's spiritual masters and healers. Share meals, stories, and meditation time with local people. You'll come home with life-changing wisdom and new ways of seeing the world.

Rare Access to Indigenous People
Connect with nomadic people who rarely meet outsiders. They are making a special journey to spend time with our group. To share their traditions, culture and vibrations to infuse and inspire us. This is a rare opportunity to meet people with a profound wisdom untouched by modern influences and spending time with them is a blessing.

Weaving & Natural Dyeing Workshops
Receive hands-on training from women master weavers and natural dye experts. You'll learn how to weave using ancient techniques, including rare nettle fabric. Take home a new skill that connects you to centuries of tradition.

Daily Wellness Rituals
We'll be accompanied by Bhutanese spiritual masters and engage in energy-cleansing exercises and daily rituals also led by Kathi. Through sun salutations, breathing exercises, and group sharing, you'll open yourself to Bhutan's special blessings. These simple but powerful practices will help you get the most out of every experience.

Cultural Festivals
We will visit a local cultural performance with authentic celebrations that few outsiders ever witness. Different dance groups and nomadic tribes will present their ancient songs, dance traditions, and intricate dress. We'll also receive an astrology reading by a reincarnated monk.

Hikes to Monasteries & Dzongs
Refresh your mind with inner peace and clarity while walking ancient paths that have transformed seekers for centuries. We'll walk through astounding nature, forest bathe, and gain insights into the daily life of devoted sacred monks and lamas.

Enjoy Home-Cooked Meals in Farmstays
Get closer to the heartbeat of Bhutanese life and make real connections with our hosts. Learn to cook Bhutanese food, hear family stories, and experience daily life from the inside.

Daily Ice Baths
For those who like, boost your health with daily dips in glacial mountain rivers. Receive the clear cold waters of the Himalayas to strengthen your body and feel more alive than ever.

Day by Day Trip Itinerary

While this outlines our main cultural activities, each day will still have room for spontaneous moments that make Bhutan so special.

Day 1: Welcome to the Kingdom (May 2)
Touch down in mystical Paro, where your journey begins with a profound blessing ceremony led by a respected spiritual master. After settling into the serene Tigers Nest Camp, we'll explore the charming streets of Paro town as the sun sets over the Himalayas.

Day 2: Sacred Temples & Valley Welcome (May 3)

Wake up with an energizing yoga session, then take a domestic flight into Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Share a traditional lunch in a local farmhouse before visiting the 8th-century Kurji temple, where we'll participate in a special butter lamp offering.

A gentle walk brings us to Jample Lhakhang temple, followed by evening prayers with the monks. Then, we'll rest at the peaceful Mountain Lodge.
Day 3: Nomadic Wisdom & Ice Bath (May 4)

After breakfast, we'll journey to the Domkhar Valley, where we'll be welcomed with traditional songs. Relax in meditation and receive Buddhist teachings from our spiritual master at local monastery. Ice bathe in the pristine river, followed by a rare cultural exchange with nomadic people from the extreme East of Bhutan. They'll share their way of life with us, as well as their raw silk weaving techniques.

We will stay at the Chumey Nature Resort.
Day 4: The Sacred Art of Weaving (May 5)
We'll enjoy breakfast overlooking the stunning Domkhar Valley, followed by an ice bath in the Chumey Chu river.

Everyone will get to learn backstrap weaving, a deeply meditative practice. Master artisans will share techniques passed down generations. Then, we'll learn the secrets of natural dyeing from designer Tashi Dema, who will demonstrate how to create vibrant colors from local plants.

We will stay at the Chumey Nature Resort.
Day 5: Indigenous Wisdom & Healing (May 6)

To meet one of Bhutan's last indigenous communities, we'll journey to the remote Phumzur Valley. Each of us will receive traditional cleansing from the region's only female shaman. Then, we'll learn about sacred medicinal herbs and forage for them in the forest. They will share a special workshop on nettle weaving and dyeing. The Phumzur community will share their ancient folk songs and we'll sleep under the stars at our mountain glamping stay.
Day 6: Fortresses & Sacred Valleys (May 7)

Begin with a sunrise breakfast and ice bath, then explore the magnificent Trongsa Dzong, one of Bhutan's largest.  We'll journey across breathtaking landscapes to Punakha, resting at Hotel Dhumra.
Day 7: Forest Medicine & Fertility Temple (May 8)
Start with forest bathing led by traditional musician Jigme Drukpa, followed by an ice bath in the sacred Mochu River. Walk through rice fields to the famous fertility temple, Chimi Lhakhang, and enjoy lunch at Farm Ku Kham. We'll rest at Hotel Dhumra.

Optional: Join the special Talo festival celebrations.
Day 8: Mountain Prayers & Cultural Evening (May 9)

Journey back to Paro, stopping at the magnificent Dochula Pass with its 108 stupas and Himalayan views. Join nuns at an all-female monastery for special Tara prayers to the female goddess. We'll enjoy a restful night at Tigers Nest Camp.
