FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes Earth Wisdom Collection a sustainable luxury fashion brand?
We only use natural materials like cotton, linen, and silk that are better for you and the planet. Our products are handmade in communities – not factories. The artisans use ancient methods that have very little environmental impact. Instead of making throwaway fashion, we create timeless pieces meant to last for generations. We believe true luxury comes from connecting to cultural heritage, exceptional craftsmanship, and the care put into each piece we make.
How do Earth Wisdom Collection garments support ethical fashion and fair trade practices?
We believe in treating Indigenous artisans fairly. That's why we work directly with masters in Bhutan, Colombia, and Bali, making sure they're paid well for their skills. By buying from these communities, we help keep rare crafts alive, like traditional Bhutanese nettle weaving. When you purchase our pieces, you're directly supporting these artisans and their cultural traditions, creating a meaningful link between you and the person who made your garment.
What is "slow fashion" and why does it matter?
Slow fashion means creating clothing with care, using sustainable materials and ethical practices. Unlike fast fashion that produces trendy, disposable items, our pieces are crafted to last for years—even generations. Each garment takes time to create. Some of our silk embroideries can take months to complete by hand. By choosing slow fashion, you're investing in quality pieces that won't end up in landfills after a few wears, reducing environmental impact while supporting artisan communities and their rich cultural traditions.
How do I know my purchase is authentically made by Indigenous artisans?
Authenticity is core to our mission. We personally visit and work directly with the artisan communities in Bhutan, Colombia, and Bali. Our co-founder Kathi has built genuine relationships with each artisan partner and oversees the creation process. We provide detailed information about the origin, materials, and cultural significance of each piece on our product pages. We're transparent about our partnerships and can share the stories behind the hands that created your treasures. Feel free to contact us if you'd like more information about any specific item's origins.
What makes Indigenous-crafted jewelry and embroidery different from mass-produced pieces?
Each piece of our Indigenous-crafted pieces carry cultural meaning and tradition. Unlike items that are mass produced in factories, our pieces have soul. The artisans create each piece by hand, using techniques passed down through generations. For example, the Embera Chamí beadwork from Colombia tells stories through patterns and colors, while our Balinese pieces are created with traditional silversmithing methods and blessed in Hindu ceremonies. This attention to detail and cultural significance creates jewelry and embroideries with both beauty and meaning that simply can't be replicated by machines.
Are your items truly one-of-a-kind?
Many of our pieces are genuinely one-of-a-kind, while others are made in very small batches. Our Bhutanese textiles, for example, are individually woven on traditional backstrap looms, with patterns created from memory rather than written instructions. Each Yemaya Gown features different mola designs from the Kuna People, making no two exactly alike. When shopping, look for the "one-of-a-kind" designation in the product description to find these special treasures.
How should I care for my handmade garments from Earth Wisdom Collection?
Handwash your new garment in cold water with a gentle, natural detergent. We suggest air-drying in the shade. Do not bleach or tumble dry. To see the true colors of your garment, look at it in natural sunlight. Each piece is dyed in small batches, so slight variations make your item unique. For specific care questions, contact us directly at info@earthwisdomcollection.com.
Can I return or exchange my garments if they don't fit?
We suggest checking our size charts and watching our videos closely before buying to get the right fit. If you buy items at full price, you can return them within 5 days for store credit. All returns must be in original condition with tags attached, unworn, and in original packaging. Sale items are final sale (no returns or exchanges). All returns have a 15% restocking fee. Need help? Contact us at info@earthwisdomcollection.com.
